DIETRICH: NATURAL DUTY
Co-writer
“No, I never look backwards. You think I want to look back and say; ‘Oh, I was so wonderful.’ - Who cares?”
It is 1942: On the battlefields of North Africa in a gold sequin gown, Marlene Dietrich takes the stage to fight the war her way; with an irresistible mix of songs, sequins, sex and sympathy.
A one (wo)man tour de force, Dietrich: Natural Duty reveals the life of a legend “with honesty, humour and class.” (The Stage)
Written with performer Peter Groom in 2018, the multi-award winning one act play Dietrich: Natural Duty was originally produced at Vault Festival in collaboration with Northern Stage and Curious Arts, before touring the UK and internationally, including Europe, the USA and Australia.
